All three members of our Development team are making their encore with the Festival. For the past two summers, Elle Dutton, our Events and Board Relations Coordinator, was the Artistic Administrative Intern; last summer, Joseph Hohlfeld, our Development Associate, was the Development and Special Events Intern; and, 15 years ago, when she first moved to Santa Fe, Cece Derringer, our Director of Development, was the Festival’s Director of External Affairs.
For over 30 years, Cece has worked in community-based for-profit and nonprofit organizations specializing in resource development and capital campaigns. In addition to her previous work at the Festival, Cece has held the positions of Director of the New Mexico School for the Arts-Art Institute and Chief Investment Officer of Homewise. Prior to moving to Santa Fe, Cece lived for 26 years in Hawaii and worked with ABC-TV as the National Marketing Manager, taught in a private high school, and served as a board member and project manager for several nonprofit organizations in Honolulu, including the Honolulu Symphony. She studied oboe at the New England Conservatory, graduated with honors from the University of New Hampshire with a BS/Ed. and MEd, received a Certificate of Fundraising Management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI, and graduated from the Leadership and Non-Profit Management program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Cece is on the board of Audubon New Mexico and enjoys hiking, studying French, and self-guided cycling in Europe.
Joseph graduated from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design with a degree in Business Arts Management. There he served as a member of the advisory council for the City Different Festival. Prior to his internship with the Festival, Joseph worked as the Events and Volunteer Coordinator for CineFesta Italia in Santa Fe. He also served as co-chair for one of the volunteer teams at the 2017 International Folk Art Market. Currently, Joseph spends time assisting the special events team at Meow Wolf. He enjoys creative culinary arts, including making his own pasta, and is on his way to mastering the art of making sushi.
Elle has recently completed her coursework at the University of Akron for her Master’s in Arts Administration. Prior to her internships with the Festival, Elle was employed as the Administrative Assistant and the Box Office Representative of the Summit Choral Society of Akron, Ohio. She was the Graduate Assistant Dance Coordinator with the University of Akron’s School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration. Elle completed her Bachelor of Music and minor in Communications from Heidelberg University of Tiffin, Ohio. In her spare time Elle enjoys film, live concerts, and volunteering for the Felines & Friends organization of Santa Fe.
Our season is in good hands with this experienced team. Please welcome them back in their new roles at the Festival.
