Festival Students Earn Music Scholarship
On April 18, three students in our music education programs received the 2022 Nacha Mendez Music Scholarship for New Mexican Girls of Color, and on May 9, they were honored at a private reception at SITE Santa Fe.

We’re so proud of them, and we’re so thrilled that three of the scholarship’s seven awardees are students in our music education programs.
We’d also like to thank Nacha Mendez and the Nacha Mendez Scholarship Committee for their extraordinary support of New Mexican girls of color as they pursue their musical dreams.

Strings in Our Schools Year-End Concerts
It was another successful year for our Strings in Our Schools program, and the photo below shows just one of the program’s in-school end-of-year violin concerts that took place this spring.
Congratulations to all the talented and dedicated Strings in Our Schools students and to their instructor, Hilary Schacht. Your concerts are always joyful and inspiring!
Dream Big Student Recital
On May 10, the Festival presented its end-of-year Dream Big Private Lesson Program Student Recital at Capital High School. The recital featured works for solo soprano, baritone, violin, flute, and oboe as well as percussion trio.
A big shout-out to all our Dream Big students, teaching artists, ensemble directors, and volunteers for a lovely and heartfelt presentation!
