The Dream Big Private Lesson Program is a subsidized private music lesson program of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, offered in partnership with Santa Fe Public Schools and the Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association. The program serves students who are enrolled in the music ensemble programs of Santa Fe Public Schools but have few or no opportunities for private music lessons due to financial hardship. Students are matched with professional musicians for low-cost weekly private lessons at their school, affording them the opportunity to excel on their instrument of choice, including voice. Students who are auditioning for the Youth Symphony Orchestra or All-State Orchestra, Band, Guitar, or Choir, or who are simply seeking to further their musicianship, benefit tremendously from Dream Big’s one-on-one private lessons.
Dream Big Private Instructors are experienced, passionate musicians who are entrusted to work with students enrolled in the Dream Big Private Lesson Program. Dream Big Private Instructors specialize in the instrument they teach and have a wealth of professional performance experience that informs their teaching techniques. Acting as role models, Dream Big Private Instructors help guide students to achieve both greater musical literacy and personal growth through caring and individually tailored instruction.
Founded upon a shared passion for music, the Dream Big Private Lesson Program is wholly supported by dedicated school ensemble directors, educators, professional musicians, students, and parents, with generous funding provided by foundations and private donors who are committed to inspiring the next generation of musicians to dream big! Together we celebrate and promote equity and access to the high-quality music education all students deserve. Music transforms lives, schools, and communities.
